Is it in the polysaccharides
The most amazing discovery made about goji berries were its' volume of bioactive polysaccharides. These molecules are complex carbohydrates bound to proteins. They are produced by plants to protect against attack by viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi, and free radicals. These molecules are the bodyguards of the plant world and are found to be high in the goji plant. The goji plant grows best in harsh conditions, with very cold winters and extremely hot summers. Like numerous other robust plants, its very ability to grow under these hard conditions is a clue as to its potential for human beings. The more extreme the stresses under which a plant grows, the higher its content of these bioactive polysaccharides. Are these bioactive polysaccharides a benefit of Goji berries? It might play a part, but many more studies needed to be prove it. Goji berries have many other properties that are a benefit as well. As I end this page about the benefit of Goji berries it is important to note I am not talking about the juice. From what I have recently learned there are almost no properties discussed here in the juice product.
